then bonus is $0.1x$ ( since bonus is 10 % of his salary)

So total income of the employee after bonus $=x+0.1x=1.1x$

which is given $10,780$

$\Rightarrow 1.1x=10,780$

$\Rightarrow x=\frac{10,780}{1.1}=9800$

Hence actual salary of the employee is $9,800$
