Number of women in the factory = $\frac{15}{100} \times 500 = 75$
On hiring 50 workers, total number of workers will become $550$ .
So, $\frac{20}{100} \times 550 = 110$
For women to constitute 20% of the workers, their number must be incresed to $110$ from $75$ by hiring additional $(110 - 75) 35$ .
