Solution

Given, pencils are cylindrical in shape.
Length of one pencil= 25 cm.
And circumference of base = 1.5 cm
(Circumference of circle=2πr)
r=1.5×722×2=0.2386 cm
Now, curved surface area of one pencil =2πrh
=2×227×0.2386×25=262.467=37.49 cm2=37.49100dm2 [1cm=110 dm]=0.375 dm2
Curved surface area of 120000 pencils =0.375×120000=45000 dm2
Now, cost of colouring 1 dm2 curved surface of the pencils manufactured in one day
Cost if colouring 45000 dm2 curved surface 4500×.05=Rs2250
