Question

A fan rotates at 100rpm .find its angular velocity and linear velocity ,if tip of its blades is 0.20m away from the axis of rotation

Open in App
Solution

The fan rotates at 100 rpm.

The tip of the blade is 0.20m from the axis of rotation.

V=100 rpm =100/60=5/3 Hz

So, the Angular velocity (ω) is = 2πν = 2 × 3.14 × 5 /3= 10.46 m/s.

And the Linear velocity (v) is = ω x r = 10.46 × 0.20= 2.092 m/s.
