Solution

The correct option is C is 497 g
Initially, 200 cg and 0.5 kg of specific components were mixed to prepare the fertiliser.

Later 5,000 mg of the mixture is used.

To find the leftover quantity, we need to perform 200 cg + 0.5 kg - 5,000 mg

As all the terms are in different units, convert them into base unit, i.e., gram.

200 cg

We know, 100 cg = 1 g
200 cg = 2×1 g = 2 g

0.5 kg

We know, 1 kg = 1000 g
0.5 kg = 0.5×1000 g = 500 g

5,000 mg

We know, 1,000 mg = 1 g
5,000 mg= 5×1 g = 5 g

200 cg+0.5 kg5,000 mg=(2 g+500 g)5 g=502 g5 g

Hence, the leftover quantity of the fertilizer mixture is 497 g
