Solution

Given,
6 sprinklers can irrigate a field in 20 mins.

We know that, if the number of sprinklers will be more, then the time taken to irrigate the field will be less.

So, Number of sprinklers(x)1Time(y)
x1x2 = y2y1

Given,
x1 = 6 sprinklers
y1 = 20 mins
x2 = (6 + 2) = 8 sprinklers
and, y2=time taken by 8 sprinklers

y2 = x1×y1x2
y2 = 6 × 208 = 15 mins

So, the difference in time = (20 - 15) = 5 mins.
