A field in the form of parallelogram has one of its diagonals $42m$ and the perpendicular distance of this diagonals from either of the outlying vertices in $10m8dm$. Find the area of the field.

As 1dm=0.1m $\Rightarrow 10m8dm=10.8m$

Area of ABCD=Aera of $△ADC+Aera(△ABC)$

Area of triangle = $\frac{1}{2}\times base\times height$

$\Rightarrow$Area of ABCD =$\frac{1}{2}\times 10.8\times 42+\frac{1}{2}\times 10.8\times 42$

=$10.8\times 42=453.6m^2.$
