Let the volume (V1) of the flask be 250 mL

Temperature (T1) = 100 + 273 = 373 K

Flask cooled to temperature T2 = 25 + 273 = 298 K

According to Charles' law,

V1T1=V2T2

Hence, the volume V2 at 298 K is V1×T2T1

Therefore, V2 =250×298273= 199.73 cm3

Therefore, water drawn back is 250 - 199.73 = 50.27 cm3
