After pollination, the male gametes reach the ovary and fuses with the egg in the ovule to form the fruit. The ovary develops into the fruit and the ovules mature into seeds. So if a fruit develops from a single ovary in a single flower then they are called simple fruits. If a fruit develops from a flower with many ovaries then that type of fruit is called an aggregate fruit.
