For motion from $B$ to $C$
$t = 0.5 s, s = B C = 2 m$

Velocity at $B$ is $u_{B}$
$s = u_{B} t + \frac{1}{2} g t^{2} \Rightarrow u_{B} = 1.5 m / s$

For motion from $A$ to $B$

$s = A B = h, u_{A} = 0 v_{B} {= u}_{B} = 1.5 m / s$

$v_{B}^{2} = u_{A}^{2} + 2 g h$ or
