Pleural membrane :
Each lung is covered by two membranes known as pleura. In between these two membranes is present a cavity known as the pleural cavity which is filled with pleural fluid.
Function of pleura :
The pleural fluid lubricates the pleural membranes so that they can slide over each other without any friction during breathing.
