Finding the percentage decrease in the amount of salt in the food product:

Definition of percentage:

In percentage, the quantity of anything is stated as though it were a fraction of a hundred.

A fraction of 100 can be used to express the ratio.

The percentage decrement is found as,

Percentage=final-initialinitial×100

Substituting the final amount as 700 and the initial amount as 630 in the above Equation we get,

Percentage=700-630630×100Percentage=70630×100Percentage=11.11%

Hence, the percent decrease in the amount of salt in the food product will be 11.11%.
