The velocity of the football is zero at the peak of its height.
By the projectile concept,
Velocity of projectile at peak point,
$Vertical velocity = 0 Horizontal velocity = u \cos α = u \cos 90 ° = 0 So, net velocity = 0$
In the projectile motion acceleration is always equal to the acceleration due to gravity and directed downwards.
So, at peak point also acceleration is equal to the acceleration due to gravity and directed downwards.
