Solution

  1. Given data :

Weight of an object W= 9.8 newton-weight

Force F=100N

Acceleration due to gravity (g) =9.8m/s2

Mass of the object (m) =?

2. Calculating the mass of the object:

Applying the formula of weight,

Weight=mass×gravity

W=mg

9.8N=m×9.8m/s2m=9.89.8=1kg

Hence, the mass of the object is 1kg.

2. Calculating the acceleration :

Let acceleration produced by the body be a.

According to newton's second law of motion,

Force=mass×acceleration

F=ma

100N=1kg×aa=1001=100m/s2

Hence, the acceleration of the body is 100m/s2.
