Question

A force of magnitude 25 N acting on a body of mass 2 kg increases its kinetic energy from 100 J to 200 J. The displacement of the body during this interval is ___ metres.

Open in App
Solution

According to work-energy theorem, work done by the force is equal to the change in total energy of the body.

Here work done is equal to change in kinetic energy which is (200 - 100) J = 100 J
Force= 25 N

Work done=Force×displacement

Therefore, 100=25×displacement

So, from the above equation, we have displacement = 10025=4 meters
