Since the width of the frame is $2in$, the overall width of the photo becomes $5+2+2,$ i.e. $9in$ and its length becomes $7+2+2,$ i.e. $11in$

Thus, the area of this bigger rectangle becomes $9\times 11=99i{n}^2$ while that of the smaller rectangle is $7\times 5=35i{n}^2$

The area of the frame thus becomes $99-35=64i{n}^2$
