Given,
Energy added to the system, ΔQ=+100 J
Pressure applied (P)=50 N/m2
Change in volume, ΔV=V2V1=410=6 m3
From first law of the thermodynamics
ΔQ=ΔU+ΔW
we can write that,
ΔQ=ΔU+PΔV
+100=ΔU+50×(6)
ΔU=400 J
Hence , option (d) is the correct answer.
