Balanced equation for combustion reactions: C3H8a+5O2→3CO23a+4H2O C4H10(3−a)+132O2→4CO24(3−a)+5H2O
Applying Gay Lussac's law,
3a+4(3−a)=10 ⇒a=2 ∴ a = 2(Propane) and 3 - 2 = 1 (Butane) Hence, 2 : 1 (Propane : butane)
