Question

A gas that is practically insoluble in water?

Open in App
Solution

For gas to be soluble in the water there are several factors such as-

  • Temperature - As it is seen that the solubility of a gas in water will decrease with increasing temperature ( colder water will dissolve more gas in it).
  • Solvent polarity- polar solvents have high solubility in water whereas nonpolar solvents are insoluble.

Hydrogen gas (H2) is almost insoluble in water because it is nonpolar in nature.
