A gaseous mixture containing equal moles of H2,O2 and He is subjected to series of effusion steps. The composition (by moles) of effused mixture after 4 effusion steps is x:1:y respectively. Then the value of (xy) is:

As rate of effusion is inversely proportional to square root of molar mass, so ratio of hydrogen to helium (when for oxygen it is one) is 4:1.
