Solution

The correct option is D 1
Given that,
γA=53, γB=75, γmix=32
nA =1 mol
For ideal gas,
CV=Rγ1
(CV)A=R531=32R
& (CV)B=R751=52R
(CV)mix=R321=2R
The internal energy of the system is conserved.
From conservation of energy,
ΔU=ΔU1+ΔU2
(nA+nB)(CV)mixΔT=[nA(CV)A+nB(CV)B]ΔT
i.e (CV)mix=nA(CV)A+nB(Cv)BnA+nB
2R=1×32R+nB52R(1+nB)=3R+5nBR2(1+nB)
2×2(1+nB)=3+5nB
4+4nB=3+5nB
or nB=1 gm mole
