A General wishes to draw up his 7500 soldiers in the form of a square. After arranging, he found out that some of them are left out. How many soldiers were left out?

Let's determine the number soldiers left out

Total number of soldiers = 7500

The number of rows is equal to the number of seats in each row.

Using long division method we can determine the number of soldiers left out,

∴ Hence, 104 soldiers were left out.
