A girl has four squares of side 8 cm. What will be the perimeter of the largest rectangle that can be formed using these four small squares?
80 cm
There are 4 squares of side 8 cm.
When we keep the squares next to each other, the length of the side will be 8×4 = 32 cm and the breadth will be 8 cm.
Hence, it will form a rectangle of length 32 cm and breadth of 8 cm.
∴ perimeter of the rectangle
= 2(length + breadth)
= 2(32 + 8)
= 80 cm
