Given:
Mass= $50 k g$
g= $10 \frac{m}{s^{2}}$
Height of one stair= $0.25 m$
No. of stairs $= 100$
Time $= 20 s$
To find the height of $100$ stairs :
Height of one stair= $0.25 m$
No. of stairs $= 100$
Height of $100$ stairs= $100 \times 0.25 = 25 m$
To find work done:
The formula used: Work done $= F \times s$ $= m g \times h$
$= 50 \times 10 \times 25 = 12500 J$
To find power:
The formula used: Power = $\frac{W o r k}{T i m e}$
$= \frac{12500}{20} = 625 J / s = 625 w a t t s$
To convert watts into horsepower:
The formula used: 1 $H P = 750 W$
$1 W = \frac{1}{750} H P$
$625 W = \frac{625}{750} H P = 0.83 H P$
Hence, the power in horsepower is $0.83 H P$ .
