(a) IUPAC names and formulae of an organic compound containing single bonds are alkanes and the general formula of an alkane is $C_{n} H_{2 n + 2}$ and the other containing a triple bond is alkyne and the general formula of an alkyne is $C n H_{2 n - 2}$ .

(b) $C_{6} H_{6}$ is the molecular formula of benzene.

(c) Iso-butane has a branched chain, while normal butane has a single chain of carbon atoms.
