Question

(a) Give reason: A frying pan is made up of steel but its handle is made up of wood.

Open in App
Solution

Steel is a good conductor of heat; hence the frying pan is made of steel which helps to cook food. whereas wood is an insulator of heat, and it helps to hold the pan, hence the handle is made up of wood. If the wooden handle is not there, handling the steel pan will be tough, as touching a hot pan burns the hands.
