(b) Silver nitrate solution and Sodium chloride solution

Solution

When Silver nitrate (AgNO3) reacts with Sodium chloride, a double displacement happens where Ag and Na will replace each other and forms a white precipitate of Silver chloride (AgCl) and Sodium nitrate (NaNO3)will form.

This is also an example of a double displacement reaction

AgNO3(aq)+NaCl(aq)AgCl(ppt)(s)+NaNO3(aq)(Silvernitrate)(Sodiumchloride)(Silverchloride)(Sodiumnitrate)
