We know , $\alpha =\frac{V_2-V_1}{V_1{t}_2-V_2{t}_1}$
Substituting the values $V_2=1200cc$ , $V_1=1000cc$, $t_2={87}^{\circ }C$, $t_1={27}^{\circ }C$.
$\therefore \alpha =\frac{200}{(87000-32400)}$
$\therefore \alpha ={\frac{1}{273}}^{\circ }{C}^{-1}$
