The effect of placing glass slab in a medium of higher index is that the emergent light ray will laterally shift in the opposite direction than that in air.
For first surface,
μ=sin(i)/sin(r)............(1)
For second surface,
1/μ=sin(r)/sin(e).........(2)
From (1) and (2),
sin(i)=sin(e)
Hence, emergent ray is laterally shifted w.r.t incident ray. Thus, behavior is similar to glass slab in air.
