Solution

The correct option is D 25%
Let volume of gold in ornament V1 and that of copper =V2 and density of gold =ρg and that of copper=ρc
ρgV1+ρcV2=0.25(1)
Volume of ornament =Volume of water displaced
V1+V2=0.15×103msV2=(0.015×103V1)
According to question-
ρgρw=19.3 and ρcρw=8.9ρg=19.3×103kg/m3
ρc=8.9×103kg/m3
Putting these value in equation (1)
(19.3×103)V1+(1.9×103)(0.0015×103V1)0.25[(19.3×103)(1.9×103)]V1+(8.9×0.015)=0.2510.4×103V1=0.12V1=0.1210.4×103=0.0115×103=1.15×105m3
V2=(0.015×1030.0115×103)=0.0035×103%ofcopper=(V2V1+V2)×100=[0.0035×103(0.0115+0.0035)×103]×100
