The total distance covered by the train to completely pass through tunnel=2+0.5=2.5km

Speed of train=36km/h

Time taken=$\frac{Distance}{speed}=\frac{2.5}{36}=\frac{2.5}{36}\times 60min$

=$\frac{25}{6}min$

i.e. 4 min 10seconds
