Solution

The correct option is C 25
Given n1=10,¯x1=5;σ1=26
n2=20,¯x1=5;σ2=32
Combined S.D.σ12=n1(σ12+d12)+n2(σ22+d22)n1+n2
where d1=¯x1¯x12 and d2=¯x2¯x12
¯x12 is combined A.M.
Now, ¯x12=n1x1+n2x2n1+n2
¯x12=10×5+20×510+20=5
Substituting the values in the formula for σ12
σ12=10(24+(55)2)+20(18+(55)2)10+20
σ12=25
