We know that according to Lindemann's 10% law of energy transfer, only 10% of the energy available at any trophic level is transferred to the next trophic level.

In the question above it is given that this group of plants have the ability to convert 5% of radiant energy. So, energy available at the third trophic level will be as follows:-

10,000 J is available to the plants they are able to convert 5% of this, which is 500 J

Energy at the second trophic level = 500×10÷100 =50 J

Energy at the third trophic level = 50×10÷100= 5 J

Thus, the energy available at the third trophic level is 5 J.
