Mass of bullet m =0.02 kg
Velocity of bullet v=108 km/hr =108*5/18=30m/s
Velocity of rifle be V=?
According to law of conservation of momentum
$M V + m v = 0 V = \frac{- m v}{M} v = - \frac{0.02 \times 30}{4.5} v = - 0.133 m / s$

The negative signs says gum is pushed back when bullet is fired
