Let the velocity of bigger ball be v.
Mass be M>> mass of small ball(m)
After collision, let the velocities be v1 and v2 respectively.
Hence, conserving momentum:
Mv=Mv1+mv2
And for elastic collision:
v=v2v1
=> v1=v2v
Replacing this in momentum equation:
Mv=Mv2Mv+mv2
=> v2=2v(M/(M+m)) which approximates to 2v, the limit M>>m
