Using the conservation of momentum and KE, the velocities of the balls after collision is derived.
m1= mass of the 1st ball
m2= mass of the 2nd ball
v1= velocity of the 1st ball before collision=v;
v2= velocity of the 2nd ball before collision=0

v2=(2m1m1+m2)v1+(m1m2m1+m2)v2;

Substituting v1=v and v2=0,we get v2=2v
