Question

A heavy object and a lighter object are allowed to fall from the certain height in the absence of air then how acceleration and velocity varies?

Open in App
Solution

In the absence of air however heavy be a matter they will fall with the same velocity and acceleration.(gravitational acceleration)
Because we know that h=1/2 gt^2.
The gravitational acceleration depends only upon the height and time not any other factor. And this equation is only applicable in the absence of air. In the presence of air there will be always air resistance opposite of the motion. You can watch videos from youtube depicting this situation. Its wonderful.
