A hemisphere tank is made up of an iron sheet 1 cm thick. If the inner radius is 1 m, then find the volume of the iron used to make the tank.

Inner radius =r1=1m
Given thta hemispherical tank is made up to 1cm thick iron sheet.
So, outer radius = thickness of sheet +inner radius
=1 cm+1 m
=1100m+1 m
=0.01 m+1 m(1 cm=1100)
=1.01 m
Volume of iron used = difference between the volumes of outer and inner hemispheres
Volume of hemisphere 22πr3
=23πr3223πr31
=23π[r32r31]
=23×227×[(1.01)3(1)3]m3
=4421(1.0303011m3)
=0.06348m3
Volume of iron used =0.06348m3
