The correct option is A 1.5 kgm/s
Given, mass of ball =100g=0.1 kg
initial velocity of ball (u)=10 m/s
final velocity of ball (v)=5 m/s
(When ball struck by Hockey strick, it returns to its original position, means the direction of ball reverses. Hence ve sign of final velcoty).
initial momentum Pi=mu=0.1×10=1 kgm/s
and final momentum (Pf)=mv=0.1×5=0.5 kgm/s
Change in momentum (P)=PfPi=0.51=1.5 kgm/s
Momentum is a vector quantity. The ve sign indicates the direction of momentum i.e. same as final velocity.
