Total flux from all surface of cylinder is ϕo=qϵo

Now,let flux linked with surface A, B and C are ϕA,ϕB and ϕc.

Since, A and C are plane faces with same area and are parallel, ϕA=ϕB

And it is given that flux through curved surface which is surface B is ϕB=ϕ

ϕo=ϕA+ϕB+ϕc

2ϕA+ϕ=ϕo

ϕA=12(qϵoϕ)
