A hollow cylindrical pipe is 210 cm long. Its outer and inner diameters are 10 cm and 6 cm respectively. Find the volume of the copper used in making the pipe ___

Open in App
Solution

Given: In hollow cylindrical pipe,

length of the pipe (h)=210 cm.

Outer diameter (D)=10 cm

Outer radius (R)=10 cm2=5 cm

Inner diameter (d)=6 cm

Inner radius (r)=6 cm2=3 cm

So, volume of cylinder used = (Outer volume - Inner volume)

=πR2hπr2h

=πh(R2r2)

=227×210((5)2(3)2)
=227×210×(259)

=227×210×16

=22×30×16

=10560 cm3

Therefore, the volume of the copper used in making the pipe is 10560 cm3.
