Question

A hollow cylindrical tank is filled up with water. The radius of the cylinder is 'r' and height is 1m. The volume of the tank is 15.4L(1000L=1m3). Find the total surface are of the tank.

Open in App
Solution

Volume of tank = pi x r x r x H

15.4 L = 15.4 x 1000 = 15400 cm^3

15400 = 22/7 x r x r x 100

r = 7 cm

TSA = 2 x pi x r x ( H + r)

= 2 x 22/7 x 7 x 107

= 44 x 107 = 4708 cm^2
