A hollow metallic cylindrical tube as an internal radius of 3 cm and height 21 cm. The thickness of the metal of the tube is 0.5 cm the tube is melted and cast and were right circular cone of radius 5 cm. Find the height of the cone correct to one decimal place.

let the internal radius of the cylinder be r = 3 cm.
height of the cylinder be h=21 cm
thickness of the metal be t=0.5 cm
therefore the external radius of the cylinder R =3+0.5=3.5 cm
the volume of the metal =
let the height of the cone be H
let the radius of the cone be 5cm
volume of the cone =1/3 xpiexr^2xH=1/3xpiex25xH
Volume of the cone=volume of the melted metal
1/3xpiex25xH=Piex3.25x2
1
H=3.25x21/(1/3x25)
H=68.25/8.333
H=8.1903cm
