Question

a horizontal disc rotating freely about a vertical axis through its axis makes 90 revolutions per minute . a small piece of wax falls vertically on the disc and sticks at distance r from the axis if the number of revolution reduces to 60 then moment of inertia of the disc is? why the moment of inertia of disc is taken MR^2 instead of MR^2/2 ??
