The correct option is B 56%
If settling velocity (Vs) is more than overflow rate (Vs) then 100% removal will occur.

If Vs<Vs then % removal

=(VsVs)×100

Surface overflow rate,

Vs=43.2 m3/m2d

=43.2 m/d

=4.32×100086400mm/s

=0.5 mm/s

30% particle have settling velocity more than (SOR) so they will be 100% removed. Hence total percentage of particle removed

=30+10×0.10.5+60×0.20.5
=56%
