We know that static friction comes into play when the surfaces of the objects are at “rest” relative to each other. In this case, the applied force will be the frictional force until it overcomes the threshold value (limiting frictional force).
Therefore, static friction will be equal to the applied force, that is 2 N.
Sliding friction comes when the surface starts to slide and we know that sliding friction can never be greater than static friction. As it is given that the box is still at rest. Hence the sliding friction will be 0 N.
