A hormone that helps in loss of water from the body
Vasopressin
Vasopressin is also called "anti-diuretic hormone" that is normally secreted by the pituitary gland. Vasopressin acts on the kidneys and blood vessels. Vasopressin helps prevent loss of water from the body by reducing urine output and helping the kidneys reabsorb water into the body. Whereas Glucocorticoids are steroid hormones which are involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats & proteins. Glucagon, a proteinaceous hormone secreted by the – cells of pancreas promotes glycogenolysis and deamination of amino acids & gluconeogenesis (formation of glucose). Thyroxin promotes tissue metabolism growth and differentiation.
