Let the price of the house be $x$ .
Thus, price of the garden is $\frac{5}{7} x$
Given that cost of garden and house together cost Rs. $8, 40, 000$ .
Therefore, $x + \frac{5}{7} x = 840000$
$\Rightarrow 7 x + 5 x = 7 \times 840000$
$\Rightarrow 12 x = 7 \times 840000$
$\Rightarrow x = 490000$
Thus, price of house is Rs. $4, 90, 000$ .
Therefore, price of garden is $\frac{5}{7} \times 4, 90, 000 = 3, 50, 000$ .
