. A hungry person salivates on smelling or thinking of food, while a well fed person seldom do
that.

Solution

Dear student, most of the salivary gland work on the reflex action principle. These reflexes are neuro motor conditioned. When the person is hungry and then he/she smells food or imagines the food then it acts as a strong stimulus to generate a reflex action in the hungry person, while the stimulus is very weak or negligible in a well fed person so no salivation occurs.
