Given:
Diameter = 16.92 Ao
radius = 8.46 Ao
(for hydrogen atom Z=1)
Hence,
r=n2×0.529 Ao
8.46=n2×0.529
n2 = 16
n=4
Therefore, the maximum number of electron in the fourth orbit is = 2n2
= 2×42 = 32
